This Week's Village Vote

Ending 3rd August 2018, Friday, 11:59pm

Shelter and accomodation have been built for the entire village, most of the village have been living off the supplies they have brought with them but these are dwindling quickly. With the need for accomodation settled, the villagers now turn their focus to food. Each villager is asked to cast a vote on how they should resolve their food issues.

Farming

{{eventall1.length}} Votes

A good long term investment would be to setup farms that could provide food for the entire village. Setting up farms would allow you to reap enough crop to feed the village for a year in 3 months time. If the village should choose to be farmers, 30% of the village will be employed in farms and will be busy 6 months of the year. With the remaining 6 months being free time during which they may choose to take up another profession. Although a forge has already been created, the development of farming would further advance local blacksmith skills by keeping them constantly employed making various farming implements.

Hunting

{{eventall2.length}} Votes

Hunting would provide all the food the village requires immediately, however, during the winter season, game may be hard to come by. Also, in the longer term, engaging in extensive hunting will reduce the wildlife in the area and cause food supplies to fall. Hunting would only require 15% of the village's manpower but these hunteres will be busy for 9 months of the year. With the remaining 3 months being free time during which they may choose to take up another profession. Additionally hunting will allow the development of a local leather industry.

Importing

{{eventall3.length}} Votes

Importing would provide the food the village requires immediately however the village must pay for the food in coin or trade. Additionally the village will also be subject to the whims of food prices and may be less durable in the case of a siege. Every player will have to use one of his 2 DTAs to create goods for trade or pay 1 gold a week tp survive. With the villagers free from the obligations of farming/ hunting, they will take up other work to create trade goods that they will in turn use to pay for food.
